I believe I got the idea for this from an example in Authentic Art Journaling. The background is gesso spread with a plastic paint spatula to give it an uneven, raw texture. The houses that didn't hold special meaning to me are painted gray since they're "fuzzy" in my mind. I know for sure some houses are missing or added, but oh well! I'm very happy with this spread.
Oh I love your childhood map :-) Beautiful! Kate x
ReplyDeleteThanks! I tried to keep it simple so it would seem more child-like.
ReplyDeleteFound your blog today and I love it. Fabulous artworl,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
ReplyDeleteHi Aly! Thank you so much for your postcard. I love it! And I also love this journal entry. Got me thinking about my own childhood memory of my neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gina! I'm glad you like the postcard! I forgot to take photos before I sent out- if it's not too much trouble, could you post a picture of mine on the flickr page? I would truly appreciate it!
